Ruchira is an expert in internal brand strategy, particularly on issues related to the alignment of people structures and policies with an organization’s external branding objectives. She provides senior-level advise on large scale change management programs and M&A integration issues. Her areas of specialization include HR implementation, employee engagement, strategic communications and employer brand strategy.
While Ruchira’s years of consulting experience span a diverse set of markets and industry sectors, she has acquired in-depth experience in the telecoms and financial services industries. She has consulted with both multinational and leading local business organizations in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia Pacific regions; assisting clients in realigning their people structure and business processes to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
As a consultant with Hewitt Associates- the largest specialist HR consulting firm worldwide- for over five years, Ruchira worked on a wide range of strategic workforce solutions ranging from the implementation of balanced scorecards, and employee stock option plans to performance management systems and large scale restructuring interventions. Ruchira was also instrumental in Hewitt’s foray into the Middle East markets.
Ruchira is a strategic adviser to Qatar Telecom (Qtel) - one of the fastest expanding telecom provider from the Middle East, advising the management team on critical organizational effectiveness issues to support the company’s ambitious global expansion program. At Qtel, she was an integral member of the post merger integration taskforce formed post Qtel’s acquisition of Wataniya Telecom. Her work included the implementation of strategic people initiatives to integrate Wataniya subsidiaries with Qtel across 10 countries.
Her most recent industry experience has been as the head of organization development and communication at Qatar’s Commercialbank (total assets US$6.87 bn). At Cb, Ruchira developed a comprehensive internal change program to embed the Bank’s strategy and vision into the organization. Prior to her stint in the Middle East, Ruchira was group head of corporate communications at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where she was responsible for managing organizational effectiveness initiatives for its 50,000+ employees. In 2004, she played an integral role in TCS’ historic and hugely successful initial public offering.
Ruchira holds honors bachelor degree in economics and a masters in business management from Bombay University specializing in communications. Apart from English, Ruchira speaks Hindi, elementary Arabic and French. She is a frequent contributor to business magazines and journals, a guest speaker at various public forums. She is currently based in Singapore.
